It is based on a leaded Favrile window, Hibiscus and Parrots (ca. 1910–20), designed by American designer Louis C. Tiffany (1848-1933) and now in The Met collection. The light practically shines through the colors printed on top of the metal barrel of each writing instrument and they are finished with polished chrome accents.
